Based in Toronto, Wek has over 25 years of investment banking experience, specializing in mining, technology, and media. He has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s most innovative and bold deal-makers, known for his keen instincts in timing, risk, and market appetite.

Wek rose to prominence at GMP Securities, where he played a key role in some of the largest mining deals in Canadian history, helping finance small-cap exploration firms that later became industry leaders. After GMP, he founded Difference Capital, an investment firm focused on technology startups, and was a featured investor on Dragons’ Den for three seasons.

He is currently the Chairman, Founder, and CEO of Altitude Capital.
